Here you will find a vibrant Department of Music within an expanding university community situated in a one-of-a-kind Gulf of Mexico location. As a music student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, you will study one-on-one with dedicated, accomplished faculty members who perform and present nationally and internationally. We emphasize a learning environment where every student is challenged to reach his or her full potential.

An accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, the university offers three undergraduate music degrees to help you reach your career goals: the Bachelor of Arts in Music, the Bachelor of Music leading to Teacher Certification, and the Bachelor of Music in Performance. The Bachelor of Arts in Music has two tracks: Music Industry Emphasis and Music Studies Emphasis. Students can also choose a general Music Performance minor or a minor in Music Industry, which includes studies in recording technology and music business.

Our program offers performance opportunities via a wide array of ensembles which are open to all university students, including University Orchestra, Symphonic and Concert Bands, Pep Band, Mariachi de la Isla, Jazz Band, University Singers, Camerata Isla (chamber choir), and Corpus Christi Chorale. Music majors also participate in chamber ensembles including string quartet, various woodwind and brass ensembles, percussion ensemble, guitar ensemble, and more.
